EXPERIENCES & INSTALLATIONS
I am passionate about projects where the audience is able to interact and participate as part of the storytelling or as an immersive experience.
I have a special interest in mixing digital and analog media to create environments that make participants play.
The Typing Machine is a participatory initiative that collects messages that random people, in different locations, type in an old typewriter, expressing their love, dreams, hopes, regrets and other untold feelings and thoughts.
The messages not only are archived, but also, they are used to create a collage in the form of an experimental narrative web series that is one of the many ways to interpret them.
This project mixes and brings face to face traditional and digital media to make a statement about interpersonal communication and self-expression.
The Typing Machine could be defined as “THE ART OF TWEETING IN THE 50s".
TEMPERAMENT OF SPACE
I collaborated with artists Diane Mitchell and Marko Gosar to create the community engagement project The Temperament of Space Yonkers.
The goal of this collective project was to bring together local artists to add their vision of their community to this interactive installation where images and sound changed when the spectators moved in the space.
"Watching you" is an interactive installation that changes in the way we perceive ourselves in space.
Taking the concept of reflection and how humans can never see themselves without a mirror reflection, this installation creates an environment where visitors watch themselves as others watch them.
